Alice was a Lincoln Classmate in one of our classes that had  the A & B classes together. Most of us knew her in the Class of 57.

Alice Asher Mackey  77, of Evanston died April 25, 2017, at Evanston Hospital. Alice Jayne Asher was born on November 5, 1939, to Marjorie Asher Holland (Edward) and Frank Asher. Born and raised in Frankfort, Indiana, she graduated as valedictorian and the only African American in her class. She moved to Chicago to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN-RN), and later, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. She worked at Skokie Valley Community Hospital (now NorthShore University HealthSystem) as Director of Medical Surgical Units and Director of Alcohol and Drug Treatment. She retired in 1983 due to health issues. Because of her professional accomplishments, the Black Nurses Association established a scholarship in her honor. When Alice, an only child, moved to Evanston, she married Glenn Mackey Sr. They later divorced. From that union, she had three children. Alice leaves to cherish her memory, Glenn Jr. (Glenda), Risa (William Dawson Jr.), and Jeff (Michelle); her grandchildren, Kendall, Janae, Jessica, Lauren, Amanda, and Evan; and a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, loving relatives, and friends.

James Morrison  Class of 57

Hi, George, Jack, Warner, and Jim/Bill Stoops,

I want to let you know that I have a new book hot off the presses--Shorts in a Bunch Amusing Anecdotes, Tall Tales, Eclectic Essays, Heroic Histories, and Playful Poems and Plays. There are 62 short pieces, written and refined over 25 years, mostly humorous. They include embarrassing and funny things that have happened to Edie; and me some fictional stories--two of which may remind you of Frankfort and others ranging from finding love in a space station to a Russian spy at Smith Mountain Lake; and comedic plays about the 2016 election debates and about two, virile, male largemouth bass looking for some action on Saturday night at Smith Mountain Lake. Two of the early readers have said the book is laugh-out-loud funny, and only one is ablood relative. The book is available at

Hope to see you all in mid-September.

                                            Best wishes,

There has been some interest in a get together in 2018, 60 years after our Graduation. Not a formal reunion but a long weekend. Get together ,talk, eat and catch up with our classmates. Please leave a message on the site Message Center and we can discuss & decide when and where.

The Class of 59  will start our mini class reunions again on the last Friday of the month beginning April 29 2017 and running through September 29th. We meet at Main Street in the back room at 11:30. Guests are welcome.   Sharon Heimbach

The following e mail addresses have bounced back.

How do I fix a bounceback problem?  Here is the procedure for handling bouncebacks:

  1. Contact the classmate at a different email address or by phone. Inform the classmate that his or her email address is bouncing.
  2. When the classmate logs into the web site a copy of the bounce notice is displayed.
  3. Classmate has the opportunity to enter an updated email address. If current email address is valid classmate may opt to keep current email address.
  4. Classmate must click the link provided to send a verification email (this is to be sure email is actually getting through now).
  5. Classmate must receive the verification email and click the link inside. The bounce problem is now solved and classmate can receive emails from the site again.

Thank You
